A Little Too Much Holiday Left Over at the End of the Holiday?
The holidays are a string of imbibing opportunities, and with alcohol comes food…do that for a month and you have gained weight. Yes, I know you were going to lose it the first 2 weeks of January, but if you didn’t here are some strategies to get you through, starting with the most important.
Don’t wear clothing that is visibly too tight.
Even slim women with great figures can make this mistake. (Yikes Michelle).
A dress that has tell-tale too-tight horizontal wrinkles across the stomach or hips can still be smashing as a layering piece. Layer a sweater, tunic or blouse over it and accessorize like you mean it! A belt, colorful jewelry, brighter on top.
Pull out your dresses and skirts that have a fuller skirt. If you gain in the hips try this A line.
If you gain in the waist, try a more natural, softer silhouette.
Top with a cropped sweater – not a long one with a full skirt – it will look too big.
If a blouse pulls apart across your bust cover it easily with a sweater. If you live in a colder climate like here in New England, this is the best time of year to have this problem.
Last but not least, take heart.
In my opinion, the two worst times of year to lose weight are December and January, and July and August. The best times are February, March, April, May, June, and September, October and November. Your time is right around the corner.
